Our Story

Established in 2025, El Capulin is locally owned and operated, born from a passion to bring vibrant, flavorful food and a warm, welcoming environment to the heart of South Warren District. Conveniently located near Chaney’s Dairy Barn and Michael O. Buchanan Park, we’re proud to be part of the Richpond community and excited to serve as a hub for good food, great drinks, and even better company.
El Capulin was founded with one goal: to create a place where guests could enjoy traditional-style Mexican dishes in a space that feels like home. I really liked El Capulin. Went there for a late lunch after doing the Mud Run at Phil Moore park. It was clean (we weren’t…🤣). The wait staff was friendly and prompt. The food was good and I liked the menu choices. I love Mexican food but sometimes hard to get choices with less sauces. They had good salads and other selections.

The BBQ Nachos at El Capulin are AMAZING. I don't typically enjoy onions on my nachos, but the ones here are SO good!! This was my first time here, and I can't wait to come back!! ♡
